What EnergyBe is
EnergyBe is a free, non-commercial iOS app that lets Belgian households
visualise their electricity and gas consumption from their Fluvius smart
meter. It was built as a personal project with no business model, no
subscriptions, and no advertising. All data stays on your device.
Data stored on your device
- Fluvius credentials — your email address and
password are stored in the iOS Keychain. They are transmitted only
to
login.fluvius.be over HTTPS and never to any
developer-controlled server.
- Meter identifiers — EAN codes and meter serial
numbers linked to your Fluvius account are stored on-device in the
iOS Keychain to identify your meters. They are never sent to the
developer.
- Energy consumption data — meter readings fetched
from the Fluvius API are cached on your device only. They are never
uploaded anywhere.
- App preferences — tariff rates, biometric lock
setting, and onboarding state are stored in UserDefaults on your
device only.
What EnergyBe does not do
- Does not send any personal data to the developer or any third party
- Does not use advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs
- Does not have a backend server or database
- Does not share your data with anyone
Third-party services the app contacts
- Fluvius (fluvius.be)
— to authenticate and fetch your meter data. Governed by
Fluvius's own
privacy policy.
- Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com)
— to fetch historical outdoor temperatures for the temperature
correlation feature. Open-Meteo is a free open-source weather API
that requires no account. Only a city name (derived from your meter
address) is sent to resolve coordinates; no other personal data is
transmitted.
How to delete all your data
Open EnergyBe → Profile → Delete Account & Data.
This permanently removes all credentials, meter identifiers, cached energy
data, and preferences from your device immediately. Nothing is stored
elsewhere to delete.
Children
EnergyBe is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly
collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date above will
be updated. Because EnergyBe has no backend, you will not receive a
push notification — check this page when updating the app.
